KBC Interns

What a blessing Cloe and Vangile have been. While not everyone sees what they do, the two of them have added a much needed dimension to the KBC ministries. The extra hands have taken on extra ministries that I would never have been able to do; from helping run certain youth programs to total responsibility for certain programs they have put their hearts and minds into what they have done.

They have also added dimensions to our ministry were beyond my character i.e. mentoring of girls. They have also taken on projects such as doing homework with the Buckingham road kids, announcement slide, sermon recordings, helping with Children's Church group time, Holiday program etc. They have been a great support to many different ministries as they have sought to come alongside and help underpin different ministries.

A big thank you to all the hosts who have 'put up' with Cloe and Vangile. You have been a life saver, and in more ways than you know, you have been family to these two ladies. Thank you.

Marriages

This past year has seen a number of marriages within the KBC family. I find great fulfillment in walking a road with a couple as they prepare for this great event in their life. With each couple I run a 7 week pre-marital course with them. I love being involved in weddings because if allows me to help a couple get the best start they can as they commit to each other and to God. I have been able to be involved in the following weddings over the past year:

• Matthew and Rene Conradie
• Barry and Rose Oosthuyzen
• Larry and Francoise Oosthuyzen
• Hannes and Johany Venter
• Keegan and Kali Coats

I think a highlight for me was to do my little brothers wedding in December this past year. It was also great to help Mike as he led the wedding of Stephen and Nicole Waugh, a couple in their cell group.

Engagements

The following engagements have taken place within the young adult family of KBC:

• Eugene Erasmus and Ruth Gibson
• Andrew Mysell and Michelle Webley
• Sarah Lynn and Paul Reynolds
• Amy Gallagher and Bradley Carter

Marriage Course

The marriage course was run for the second time at the end of 2009. We had 28 people attend the course, of which 10 were not from KBC.

This year we will take a slightly different approach to the marriage course and change the material. We will do 'Love Languages' for couples, and will run it over 4 weeks in October.

The group will be run from a private home and will only be open to a maximum of 4 couples form KBC. The prerequisite for each couple to attend is that they invite another couple from outside KBC.

Baby Dedications

I have also been able to share in the following special family occasions as families asked us to hold them accountable as they dedicate their little ones:

* Sizwe, Thabisa Mkhwanazi and little Zenande
* Goose, Neil, Skye Smallfield and little Madison
* Warren, Vernita Wootton and little Joshua

I will be doing the dedication of childhood friends of mine, Dean, Hayley de Jager and little Colbie. Peter, Sonja Hanekom and little Maria will be dedicated in September by myself unless our little one arrives early.
