Chaos (Kloof Senior Primary)
Aim: To have a 'ground level advantage' into Kloof Senior Primary School with the aim of building relationships with Grade 6-7
When: Friday mornings 7:15-8:00
Who: 2009 Jason, 2010 Cloe and Vangile

This past year has seen this group grow to regular numbers of between 25-45. With fun games as a draw card we have aimed to become a presence in the local school. At the end of last year we had a large number of grade 7's coming to this group in the morning. With the relationships built through this ministry we had 52 of the grade 7 class coming to our Friday night ministry. More will be said of this under the Teenz Friday section. This year has seen the dynamics change as the class is mainly made up of grade 6. To this end Cloe and Vangile are becoming more involved in the school by helping oversee some of the break times. This will give us scope to build relationship with the grade 7's who do not come to Chaos. We are also using our influence there to advertise as well as be a presence in some of the school assemblies.

Stats: 30 Grade 6 on a weekly basis

Kloof Junior Primary
Aim: To create awareness of the ministries of KBC
When: No program yet
Who: No one yet

As a start to stepping into the local junior school, I saw a need that the school had during school events. Parents would park up and down the road which led to fines and car thefts. At the end of last year I approached the school offering them the use of our parking lot for parking during these events. When they have used our parking lot we have been able to advertise church ministries on the windscreens of the parked cars.

Strike Zone Holiday Program
Aim: To create an outreach program for grade 0-7 during the July holidays
When: 28 June-2 July 2010
Who: Large team of the most amazing volunteers

The Strike Zone was the first holiday program in a long time here at KBC. We structured the program so as to not clash with other holiday clubs in the area we chose a date that was later in the holiday than usual. The support from the church was a huge encouragement as people gave towards the needs of the club. As a whole I believe the holiday program was a large success, not only for our outreach into the community but for the church as well. Different people all came together with one goal in mind. There was a great sense of team spirit and unity as we impacted the community. The program has seen valuable inroads being established into our community with some parents visiting the church as a result of the holiday program. With the great success of the program we are looking at the viability of perhaps running a holiday program more than once a year.

Stats: In total 62 kids visited KBC during the club
