Prayer Ministry
The Prayer Ministries is
essential in the life of KBC. It is spread widely and includes various
activities and opportunities for prayer. Details of times of the various
prayer ministries are given in the Sunday church bulletin. Included in the
bulletin is a weekly Prayer Focus flyer which can be used as a reminder of
prayer items of the church family at KBC and further afield. Members and
adherents are reminded that the early Christians " devoted themselves to the
apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to
prayer" (Acts 2:42).
The formal prayer
ministries include a prayer time in the church hall before the morning and
evening services . This prayer time is open to all and members and
adherents are encouraged to participate in these prayer times.
Additionally, the first
Wednesday of the month, after work, is set aside for prayer. This Wednesday
prayer time is also open to all and we encourage all to come on their way from
work. The prayer time is not necessarily a fixed time, so people can join in
and leave to suit their own schedule.
The Prayer Ministries
also include two Intercessory Prayer fellowships on a Tuesday morning. The
focus is to pray for others and their needs.
The Prayer
Chain continues to function each morning and each evening and anyone in
crisis, needing prayer, can phone Meredith requesting prayer. Please take
advantage of this ministry, being fully assured that all requests are kept in
the strictest of confidence.
The Intercessory Prayer Roster under the oversight of Phyl Beck focuses
on praying for each person associated with KBC on a regular ongoing basis. The
intercessor is given a roster with five or so people in the church to pray over
for a few months. The roster changes every few months. "My house will be called
a house of prayer" (Matt.
21: 13).
